Types of Rabbits - Accepted by the American Rabbit Breeders Association

At present, you can get various types of rabbits that can be kept for breeding purpose or can be tamed as a domestic pet. There are plenty of different types of rabbits.

Many people all around the world are keeping rabbits for butchering and at home as pet animal. Lots of people use to breed them in the course of careful breeding or natural collection. Types of Rabbits:

1. American rabbits: They basically come in two major categories and were recognized in the 20the century. There sub verities are:

-American Fuzzy Lop: This breed was the result of breeding 2 Holland lops rabbits. This type of rabbit has big ears and their body is covered with bulky wool.
-American Sable: These rabbits are a breed of Holland lops and have sandy coloring.

2. Angora: This breed initiated in Ankara, Turkey and is one of the oldest kinds of rabbits. There sub-verities are:

-English Angora: They are basically gentle and needs grooming, resulting from French Angoras.
-French Angora: Their body has thick wool and guard hairs.
-Satin Angora: This type of rabbits is highly soft due to its wool. Their wools are strong in nature.

3. Beveran: They are the biggest and the oldest fur rabbits. Their coats come in various colors like brown, black, white, blue and lilac. Pointed Beveran is one of the rare breed and they have white tipped hairs.

4. Blue of Ham: This type of rabbit was popular in the 20th century.

5. Britannia Petite: This breed weighs around 2. 5lb and they have a wild nature. These rabbits cannot be kept as domestic pets.

6. American Chinchilla: They are breed for butchering and their body size is medium. They have straight ears.

7. Dutch: They are excellent pets and their body is colorful.

8. Himalayan: This is an Asian rabbit and found in the Himalayan Mountains.

9. Lion head: This rabbit was originated from Belgium and is one of the fresh breed of domestic rabbits. It has long hairs on the face that makes it look like lion head.

10. English Spot: These types of rabbits are white in color and it has a butterfly mark on their nose.
