Why I Love Cats - Facts About Cats

Cats are crepuscular (active at dusk/dawn) and rely particularly on their hearing, hence a large region of neocortex is devoted to processing sounds. This is enhanced by their highly mobile ears. Cats are absolutely spectacular. It's true there not small dogs -- but the goal is to appreciate them for what they are. CATS are easy to photograph if you can tap an unlimited supply of patience. Beyond that, all you need is a camera (I prefer a reflex) with flash attachment.

Cats are very smart and easy to train. Cats learn without squirt bottles, clickers, de-clawing or food treats. Cats are smarter than this study suggests. Cats aren't all that tough; they don't always land the right way up, which is why your average pussy cat jumping from the garden fence will occasionally come home limping, bruised or fractured because of a badly timed fall. Still, studies on cats falling from skyscrapers suggest that up to 90% survive, albeit with broken bones and sore paws.

What is the difference between cats and dogs?

Dogs, however, are able to survive on plant material alone; they do not have to consume meat. However, always keep in mind that dogs do best and by nature are primarily meat-eaters. Dogs like to play chase; cats may view the game as a threat. But, aside from generalizations, most dogs and cats seem to have their own unique dispositions. Dogs are cool, funny, strong, and obedient. Or, at least, there supposed to be. Some cats and dogs don't get along but some are friends until the end.
